1. How to manually reset (wipe out) Colabolo?

Sometimes when you are having problems, it might help to reset (wipe out) Colabolo. Please follow the steps below:

Windows users:
1. Please delete the following local directory on your computer. The path should be something like:
Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\com.imahima.colabolo-client.xxx\

Windows Vista

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\com.imahima.colabolo-client.xxx\

Useful Information

If this directory is not listed in your Windows Explorer, make sure that you have chosen to display hidden files. To confirm this setting:
1. Under the "Tools" menu in Windows Explorer, select "Folder Options".
2. Click on the "View" tab.
3. Under "viewing files and folders", select "Show all files and folders".

2. After deleting the above directory, launch Colabolo and login.
3. Your data shall be restored from the backup on the server.

Mac users:
1. Please delete the following local directory on your computer. The path should be something like:

Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.imahima.colabolo-client.xxx/

2. After deleting the above directory, launch Colabolo and login.
3. Your data shall be restored from the backup on the server.

2. Why does Colabolo not seem to go online from my office network?

After you sign-up, if your Colabolo client does not progress beyond the screen "Downloading projects from server.." or the sync indicator appears grey, it could be because of network-related issues:

( i) Colabolo client uses TCP port 1128 to communicate with the server and sync to other clients.
Check with your network administrator to make sure that TCP port 1128 is open in your firewall.

(ii) If you are using a HTTP Proxy, that could be a problem.
Check with your network administrator to see if a proxy exception can be made for *.appspot.com

 

3. Can I access my projects from another computer?

You can access your project data from any computer.
When you login, make sure you enter your email address exactly as you registered.

 

4. Why cannot I login by cutting and pasting my password?

For security reasons, cutting and pasting of password into the login screen is not permitted. Please make sure you manually type the password twice.

 

5. Why can't I create a new issue?

Please create a project first by clicking on "New" in the left panel under the project selector.

 

6. Why can't I add a member to my project?

Please select a project in the project selector first.

 

7. How do I delete a member?

1. Select the project from the project selector.
2. Click on "Members" under "Setup".
3. Click on the delete icon to the right side of the member you wish to remove.

 

8. How do I delete a project?

1. Select the project from the project selector.
2. Click on "Details" under "Setup".
3. Click on the delete icon on the upper right side to remove the project.

Warning

Removing a project will irrevocably delete all issues, comments, files contained in the project. This cannot be undone.

 

9. Can I host the Colabolo server in my own environment?

In order to keep things simple for our customers, our current model is to host the Colablo server.
This is the same model as Google Apps, Salesforce.com etc. You might want to read about data security.

 

10. How can I translate Colabolo to my language?

We are happy to help translate Colabolo to your language. Please contact us for instructions.
You can see a list of available languages and translation contributors.

 

11. Why do I get an Adobe AIR installer error when updating Colabolo?

If you are getting this error, it can be due to browser caching.

Sorry, an error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because the installer has been
mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.

Please clear your browser's cache and download Colabolo directly. When the client starts up, go to "Account Settings" > "Wipe Out" and wipe out.
Then restart Colabolo and login. Your data shall be restored from the server backup.

 

12. I am getting the error message "Invalid email or password".

Colabolo is unable to connect to the internet (does the sync indicator looks grey?). Please read FAQ #2 above to make sure you are having any firewall or HTTP proxy related issues.

 

13. I am unable to click to open a downloaded file with non-Roman characters in the file name.

This is a limitation of AIR. If the downloaded file has non-Roman characters in the file name, please drag the file to your desktop and then double-click to open it.

 

14. Why is Colabolo running very slow on my computer?

If Colabolo is running slow, try quitting other applications or adding more memory to your computer.

 

15. I was added as a member to a project but the project is not listed in my project selector?

In rare cases, your project list may not automatically refresh itself when you are added as a member to another project.
To update your project list, you can try to wipe out and download the projects from the server.
